Money Month is a Chrome extension that helps users organize their monthly income and expenses by connecting to bank accounts they select and exporting a categorized spreadsheet. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.
When you choose a bank and sign in through that bank's own website, Money Month reads the following data directly from your signed-in bank session, for the accounts and time period you view:
Money Month does not access your bank username, password, or any authentication credentials. All sign-in happens directly on your bank's official website; the extension only reads the account and transaction data displayed after you have signed in yourself.
Collected transaction data is used solely to build the monthly summary spreadsheet you request — organizing transactions by day and category, and separating income from expenses. This data is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than generating the spreadsheet you asked for.
All account and transaction data is stored locally in your browser (using Chrome's extension storage) until you choose to export it. Data is only sent off your device when you take an explicit export action:
Money Month does not sell, rent, or share your financial data with third parties, and does not use your data for purposes unrelated to the single purpose of organizing and exporting your own transactions.
Data stored locally by the extension remains in your browser until you clear it yourself, uninstall the extension, or clear your browser's extension storage. Uninstalling Money Month removes all locally stored data.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "last updated" date.
Questions about this policy can be submitted via the Money Month GitHub repository.
